How to Copy/Paste Purchasing Transactions and Distributions from Excel
1. Using the “Transaction Entry” window, copy and paste PM Transactions and PM Distributions.
2. To copy and paste correctly into the Excel spreadsheet, the required fields must be in the following order:
Vendor, Purchases, Trade Discount, Freight, Misc., Document Number, P.O. Number, Cash.
If there is an amount in the cash field, the Payables Cash Entry window will open automatically after clicking the "Paste" button.
*Not all amount fields need to have an amount.
*You must copy/paste all data fields only; do not include the header fields.
FYI:
This feature will also work in web client
Just like in the General Ledger, if you choose the Intercompany field, the Paste button becomes unavailable.
3. Under Payable Transactions in Dynamics GP, select Transaction Entry and choose the Vendor ID. Distributions will default from the Vendor record unless you paste in distributions. It is not required to do distributions.
4. In the Payables Transactions window, found under Purchasing:
Click Transactions and choose Transaction Entry.
Choose the Vendor ID, click Distributions, copy lines from Excel, and choose the Paste button from the menu, which will populate the information.
Close the Distribution window; if prompted with a warning you can choose OK.
Now, paste the rest of the payable's transaction once the distributions are copied.
