Dynamics GP 2016: Exciting New Features

Updated: Oct 15, 2021

Another major Microsoft release is just weeks away! Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 will be generally available worldwide on May 1, 2016.  This is an exciting release because it has so many new features that will transform the way you and your company interact with your business solutions.

The big news for this release will be the new HTML5 web client. HTML is the standard language for formatting and displaying documents and online content on the World Wide Web and web apps.  HTML5 is the latest and greatest standard for that language and using it to power GP 2016 will improve performance across web browsers. This is an exciting update because it means users will be able to operate Microsoft Dynamics GP in its entirety from any device that supports HTML5 web browsers. The powerful functions in Dynamics GP will be completely accessible from your iPad or Android tablet, OSX and Linux, and on any browser that supports HTML5, such as Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox!

According to Pam Misialek, a Microsoft Dynamics GP marketing manager, “It enables users to work when they want, how they want, with the device they want. It enables businesses to have control over how they leverage the cloud.”

Another exciting addition to the Dynamics 2016 release is the inclusion of Power BI on your GP Homepage. BI Reporting is a critical feature for management and with the arrival of GP 2016, Power BI Reports will be made available right on the GP home page. Having a detailed snapshot of your most critical data will help you quickly and accurately diagnose, solve and prevent problems within your business.
