We often get asked where the name Rimrock came from.
Here's our story:
It was back in 1989 when Jonathan Taub, Rimrock Corporation founder and CEO, spent a week in Whistler with his wife Robin, who was attending a summer tax course conducted by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. They were offered a free place to stay so he figured, why not?
After the long, long, very long days of Canadian Tax Act classes (if you know, you know), Jonathan and Robin would hang out with other tax accountants at the Rimrock Café. They kept returning to the café to sample the extensive martini selection, which they had never seen before.
About a month later, when it came time to incorporate and name his company, that trip to Whistler was still on his mind. Rimrock was available and that is how Rimrock Corporation got its name. Rimrock Café is still going strong as Whistlers best restaurant for fish and game, and of course, martinis.
